My goal with this piece was to create a tranquil and slightly mystical scene. The tree is a Japanese Maple in fall colors, it's shape follows a form of styling in Bonsai known as 'Informal Upright'.

I did the low-res model in Max, the high-res sculpting in Zbrush, and the final render in Max using V-Ray for the lighting.
